Research
ETHZ Computational Robotics Lab
Since Jul 2024, I have been working as a Research Assistant in the Computational Robotics Lab at ETH Zurich.
I am primarily working on developing a legged robotic system to be used in various research directions.
ETHZ Soft Robotics Lab
I joined the Soft Robotics Lab at ETH Zurich in Sep 2020. I first did my semester project and continued as a student research assistant.
I have worked on developing Silicone Elastomer Fish robots and I am now shifting my focus towards the design and fabrication of Soft Actuators
Back Extension Exoskeleton
As an individual Final Year Project, I am currently building a back extension exoskeleton under the supervision of Professor Ling Shi. The project focus on developing an affordable exoskeleton system design to effectively provide assistance for workers in logistics and material handling industry, thus reducing back stress and reduce back pain.
The first generation structure of the exoskeleton is finished and successful structural functionality tests finished.(click "learn more" for test videos)
Smart Crutch Controller
I helped to develop an easy to use and robust software interface for the Smart Crutches, a set of specially designed test equipment to gather force data between the patient and the crutches during experiments.
I have also participated in several experiments in the Balgrist Research Center.
UROP Research Work
Starting from 2018 I worked as an undergraduate research assistant in the HKUST Robotics Institute through UROP, the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program.
I mostly worked in Professor Shaojie Shen's group, the HKUST Aerial Robotics Group and helped with documentation and tool chain construction and testing, I also wrote several software modules for the Mocka Swarm Project, one of which is displayed here.
Soft Actuator Fabrication
During my time at the HKUST Robotics Institute, I got interested in the soft actuators projects under professor Michael Yu Wang. I discussed with the Ph.D and M.Phil Students and decided to try a develop a different method for manufacturing soft actuators with complex internal structures.
I used my specialty in 3D printing and decided to use water solvable PVA in building the internal molds in the molding process .
